18.2 thousand shares traded

On April 7, the Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE) traded 15 companies’ 18.2 thousand shares with a total value of 12.3 million MNT. The most actively shares were “APU” trading 7.9 thousand and “State Department Store”- 3.9 thousand. Top-20 index reached 5089.64 and increased by +73.91 pionts compared to the previous day. Shares of “Shivee ovoor”, “State Department Store” and “NIC” went up, respectively.

Mongolia has one million six thousand voters

One million six thousand people are possibility to attend the Presidential Elections of Mongolia, according to a research from the General Committee of Elections /GEC/.


A working group, sat by the National Center for Civil Registration and Information together with the GEC, has reached a conclusion that one million six thousand people can vote.
But, all those people won’t attend the elections. Out of them, about 75 percent may participate in the voting, said N.Luvsanjav, a chairman of the GEC.

Some foreign and international NGOs disbanded

Currently, there are 117 foreign and international NGOs in our country. The Office of Immigration Naturalization and Foreign Citizens of Mongolia /OINFC/


checks up an action that enables the rights to those organizations to run their activities on territory of Mongolia.
Most percent of the foreign and international NGOs carry out their activities in the fields of humanitarian, education and science.

By a recent investigation from the OINFC, some organizations have been disbanded and their activities have been terminated including, the “Assistance Foundation of Baptist” (headquarter in the Republic of Hungary), the “Hadag” (headquarter in Netherlands), the “International Union for Development of Environment” (headquarter in the Republic of Korea), and the Labiopalatine Pathology Association (headquarter in Japan).

Above organizations didn’t include on a revised registration, their permission term of activities expired, and they didn’t send annual reports, and weren’t on their phone numbers and addresses registered at the OINFC.

Director General to visit to Mongolia

IAEA Director General (International Atomic Energy Agency) Mohamed ElBaradei will arrive in Mongolia soon.


He will visit to the National Center of Oncology to sign a memorandum for the cooperation with the Mongolian Ministry of Health. A Minister of Health, S.Lambaa will give speech there.

Mr. Mohamed ElBaradei will be getting acquainted with equipments in a radiotherapy ward at the center. His visit is expected to take place on April 22 and a director of the center, L.Tumurbaatar, and deputy directors G.Navchaa and G.Purevsuren will received him. Also, it is planned to bestow a title “Honoured Professor of Clinic” to the guest.

To sign a contract on financing of nine million euros

At the intergovernmental negotiation of Mongolia and the Federal Republic of Germany held in April, 2008 in Bonn city,


the German Government has decided to grant soft loan and non-refundable aid as total amount of 23.7 million euros to Mongolia.

A ceremony will take place today on financing a project of two directions with nine million euros of this intergovernmental negotiation for the financial cooperation between the two countries.

This property is a project for enhancing food supply of urban population, for developing infrastructure, and for establishing a purification plant in Yarmag and Nisekh.

The event for signing will hold at the Ministry of Finance and will bring together an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the FRG in Mongolia Pius Fischer, a MP and Minister of Finance S.Bayartsogt, and a Representative of the German Bank for Reconstruction and Development Dr. A.Battushig.

Animals to be exported to Buryat

Delegation led by J.D.Baruev, a Minister of Food and Agriculture of the Buryat Republic, the Russian Federation, are working in UB, capital city of Mongolia.


On Monday, they were received by D.Zagdjav, a head of the Mongolian-Russian Parliament group at the Parliament.
At the meeting, MPs expressed to support the cooperation on supplying seed wheat and fertilizer from Buryat and to export animals and animal products from Mongolia.

On the socialism period, Buryat had had 1.8 million animals and today, its number decreased or reached about 200 thousand.

The Minister of Buryat Food and Agriculture introduced that an action for exporting animals from Mongolia on their feet is on an agreement stage in order to add heads of its animals and to acclimatize animals, which resist Siberian chilling temperature.

Exporting 50 thousand sheep to Buryat at the first shift is focused on the contract.

Ambassador O.Dambiinyam presents his letter of credence

An Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from Mongolia in Ukraine, O.Dambiinyam has presented his letter of credence to President of Ukraine, Victor Yushchenko.


While he was working in Kiev, city of Ukraine, he met with heads of Ukrainian Parliament, Ministry of Foreign Relations, Ministry of Economics, Ministry of Education and Science, and some public organizations.

He exchanged views on issues of development of the relations and cooperation between Mongolia-Ukraine especially, on holding a regular session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission of Mongolia-Ukraine, and its discussing issues.
Therefore, the Ambassador met with delegation of Mongolian citizens, who are working and studying there, and leaders of some Ukrainian schools, where Mongolia’s students are studying in.
